Hampton Hill Junior School is a Community School attended by 360 pupils aged 7-11. It is a happy, vibrant environment with a real sense of purpose and outward looking focus.
It has been working on a ‘Home to School’ project, which is based on the premise of raising the expectations of pupils and families where education is not greatly valued, family educational experiences have not been good or there have been dropout issues with older siblings. By early interventions with these pupils and their families the aim is to ensure that they have sustainable routines, structures, and support networks and strategies before the move onto secondary school.
Three main fields of action:
- Raising aspirations
- Actively and positively engaging families
- Individual support for families.
